Sorry if that's ^^^ confusing, it's just that I had a borrowed, fully licensed version to work with so I'm not certain of the limitations of VCDS-Lite. Used a Windows 10 64bit laptop to interface with it and had zero issues with. But looking at the list of functions supported in the shareware VCDS-Lite, it seems you CAN login to a module and code it, just not run Basic Settings. I used it with the Ross Tech VCDS-LITE free software you can download from. » vcds windows 10 usb drivers » vcds vag com driver windows 10 » vcds v12.12.0 windows 10 driver download » usb to usb bridge driver windows 10 » vcds usb driver windows 8 » vcds usb driver windows 7 » vcds win 10 driver » vcds-lite windows 10 » vcds lite windows 10 » descargar vcds 12. I logged in and out of the ABS module so many times I sorta lost track of what I actually did. I only say "probably" because I'm not sure I even needed to run the steering angle calibration / Basic Settings as indicated in the Ross-Tech video. So in short, if you're going to be mucking around with an ABS module, you need to have a means to re-code it, and that means you probably need some sort of purchased VCDS license.

Here too, it doesn't seem to matter whether it's your original unit or a "new" one.
VCDS LITE WINDOWS 10 INSTALL
Also worth noting is that when you install a ABS module, it needs to be installed in the car for a couple hours before you can code it. You can now connect other end of cable to car. If everything is good, it should display 'Interface Status: Found'. At that point, there's no difference in getting one from the junkyard vs. Select the 'COM Port' number as explained in Step 2.

From my recent experience, once the ABS module is removed from the car for a couple hours, it needs to be re-coded. I've also heard this is the cheaper and more efficient route.Just so bad info isn't left out here, the above is NOT correct. I heard If you get your existing module rebuilt, since it's the same exact module that came out of the car, it would not need to be reprogrammed.
